Tetrad is in active development, and these policies may be updated as new features launch. If you have questions about how your data is handled, contact us at the address below.
Overview
Tetrad is a study tool that processes material you upload to generate notebooks, concept maps, review content, and tutor responses. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the service providers we rely on to run Tetrad.
What we collect
- Account information (email and authentication credentials via our auth provider)
- Study material you upload (PDFs, notes, screenshots, and similar content)
- Generated notebook content tied to your account
- Essential session and preference data needed to run the product
You can sign in with email and password, or with Google sign-in where our auth provider has the Google option enabled. We never see or store your Google password.
How we use your data
Uploaded material is processed to generate your study workspace. We do not sell your personal data. In hosted production, source text and relevant notebook context may be sent to Gemini or another configured AI provider to generate notebooks and answers.
Service providers we use
To run Tetrad, we rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage for your account and study material
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing for Premium plans (Tetrad does not see or store your full card details)
- Google / Gemini (or another configured AI provider) — generates notebooks, summaries, and Ask responses from the material you upload
These providers process data only as needed to operate Tetrad and under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell access to your data to third parties.
Your responsibilities
- Do not upload copyrighted material unless you have the right to use it
- Do not upload sensitive personal information unrelated to your studies
- Review AI-generated output for accuracy before relying on it
Retention, export, and deletion
You can delete individual notebooks, or all of your study data (notebooks, captures, concepts, review items, and Ask history) at once, from Settings → Data. Deletion removes linked notebook data and attempts to remove linked uploaded source files. You can also download a JSON export of your study data from the same page.
To permanently delete your account, go to Settings → Danger zone. Account deletion requires typing a confirmation phrase and removes your profile, notebooks, uploads, billing linkage, and authentication record. This action cannot be undone. You can also email tetrad.vg@gmail.com if you need help.
No grade guarantees
Tetrad is a study aid. It does not guarantee academic performance, grades, or exam outcomes.
